IN-PERSON: Can the Great Reskill Provide the Window to Close Gaps in ICT?

Trinity Business School, Dublin 2, Dublin

Friday, 16 October | 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Our discussion will consider whether large-scale reskilling initiatives can realistically address Europe’s growing ICT skills shortages

Join us at Digital Talent EU Days 2026, taking place at Trinity Business School on Thursday 15 and Friday 16 October.

As part of the two-day programme, BlockW will host the debate:

Can the Great Reskill Provide the Window to Close the Gaps in ICT? on Friday 16th October 11.30am-12.30pm

Europe continues to face significant ICT skills shortages, while employers are investing heavily in reskilling and workforce transformation.

This session will examine whether large-scale reskilling can help close those gaps and create stronger, more inclusive digital talent pipelines.

Bringing together senior leaders from business, education and workforce development, the discussion will explore:

  • what is working in reskilling and where current approaches are falling short;
  • the role of employers, educators and policymakers in developing digital talent;
  • how reskilling can connect more people to ICT careers and progression opportunities; and
  • what is needed to build sustainable talent pipelines for the future.
